E-Mail Configuration
What to do...

To help you set up your Internet Mail we've included the three major programs:
Microsoft Outlook 97
Microsoft Outlook 2000
Outlook Express

Microsoft Outlook 97
How to configure
your email program

Open Microsoft Outlook 97
Click on Tools
Click on Services
Click on Add
Click on Internet Mail
The Internet Mail box should appear
Type in your details

Type in your full name
Type in your email address (userID@benet.net.au)
The Internet Mail server is benet.net.au
Type in your account name (userID)
Type in your password
Click Advanced Options

If you choose connect using the network you must be online for your email program to work.
If you choose connect using the modem, whenever you open this program it will connect to BENET even if you are already connected.
It is our recommendation that you select connect using the network.
Ensure that the option Work offline and use Remote Mail is not selected!
Click OK
Two messages shall appear, read these carefully and click OK to both of them.
Click OK one more time and this shall save your settings.
Close Microsoft Outlook 97
Open Microsoft Outlook 97
Your email settings are now saved and ready for you to use.
If you do not close the program and re-open it your settings shall not be saved until next time you open the program.

Microsoft Outlook 2000
How to configure
your email program

Open Microsoft Outlook 97
Click on Tools
Click on Accounts
Click on the Mail Tab
Click on Add - Mail

The connection wizard shall now walk you through your configuration.
Display Name: Your Name
Next
Email Address: UserID@benet.net.au
Next
Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server: benet.net.au

Next
Account Name: UserID
Password
Choose the option to Remember Password
Ensure that the Log on to Secure Password Authentification is NOT chosen
Next
Select the option to establish your connection manually
Finish
Close Internet Accounts
You are now ready to start using your Internet Mail

Outlook Express
How to configure
your email program

For the purpose of these instructions we have used v5 of Outlook Express
Open Outlook Express
Click on Tools
Click on Accounts
Click on the Mail Tab
Click on Add - Mail

The connection wizard shall now walk you through your configuration.
Display Name: Your Name
Next
Choose the option: I already have an email address I would like to use
Email Address: UserID@benet.net.au
Next
Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server: benet.net.au
Next
Account Name: UserID
Password
Choose the option to Remember Password
Ensure that the Log on to Secure Password Authentification is NOT chosen
Next
Choose Finish
Close the Internet Accounts box
You are now ready to start using Outlook Express as your email program.
